They treat girls differently, don't they?

This short story was very interesting. Although I believe now vs. back when this book was published schools are treated better. In the short story the argument was that girls were treated differently than the boys and that it was the boys who were getting called on more often than the girls. Due to this it caused the girls to stray away from courses in chemistry, calculus, computers, and other science and technology, an industry that hold such growth potential. It is also interesting to read about how girls and boys learn differently. Boys are more individualistic whereas girls they tend to create hierarchies. Boys tend to be more spontaneous regardless if they get the answer right or wrong they raise their hand not truly thinking about the question being asked. Girls tend to think more before they speak, as a result they don't raise their hands. Interesting short story but I believe now girls are equally being called on.
